Visit artist, Patricia Gallagher, at St. John’s Episcopal Church between 4 and 8pm on JULY 1st.
Patricia Gallagher has always been artistic, especially in drawing and painting. She has frequently explored new media. In 2009 she decided to take a mosaic class at Sitka near Lincoln City, Oregon. It was taught by Mark Brody. The class turned her into a lover of the process of mosaic. She states: I wake up with ideas, head to my studio and start working on a project.
Now she is primarily working in stained glass. Sizes range from small Christmas ornaments to large 4 ft X 5 ft mirrors.
She has studied mosaics with Mark Brody, Lynn Adamo, and Kelly Knickerbocker. Each has taught her a great deal about what a person can do with a little adhesive, some glass, and a surface to put it on. She also takes weekly classes in watercolor from Renee Ugrin through Clackamas Community College, and spent two weeks in Italy this summer painting, drawing and learning prospective from Benno Phillipson at LaRomita School of Art.
