OREGON HOME MAGAZINE

Why you should care about this magazine::former fashion writer for The Oregonian, Vivian McInerny is now the managing editor of this local pub. I had the chance to chat with her yesterday about it, and made sure that she knew about my displeasure over Domino Mag not being around anymore. (hint hint) I then mentioned that it would be super cool if, say, they were to feature more stuff such as  the designer of the Ace Hotel.  Viv let me know that she had actually already conducted an interview and it should be in upcoming issues. This is why you should start paying attention (in a few issues, mind you, her lead won’t be featured for a few runs.) I have a feeling with a sassy fashionista at the healm the magazine will take a turn for the chicer.

CYNDI LAUPER STATION, PANDORA.

on January 20th, 2011 in RADAR. by | No Comments

I am literally obsessed with this station. I cannot stop listening to it. I stopped taking my IPod to the gym and instead listen Pandora on my IPhone.

I fear my co-workers may stab me in the neck if I don’t cease to listen to this. So, I give it to you to listen to.  I am now off to find a new one for my listening pleasure. I need to spare my life as I like the people I work with.

MOD CLOTH

on January 11th, 2011 in RADAR. by | No Comments

A friend just introduced me to this site, it has THE CUTEST DRESSES. I couldn’t figure out where I had heard of it previous to her life changing introduction, and I think it was Lucky Magazine that wrote it up this month.

Anyhoo – she said it is similar to Zappo’s with their customer service, quick 2 day delivery, 4 day turn-around on posting of money on returns, and a size 12 is typically a large. I need to go get to shopping now. Ta Ta.

THANK YOU!!!!

on January 4th, 2011 in Uncategorized by | No Comments

I don’t even know how to express the gratitude of the entire Art a la Carte Committee, other than simply saying “THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!” Each and everyone of you was instrumental in helping us with our first annual Christmas Tree Donation Drive.  We couldn’t have done it without you.

First and foremost Thank You to each of the 26 business owners who hosted Christmas trees, wrapped presents and endured all of the unknowns as we coordinated this for our first year.  All in an effort to create a Christmas for 26 Milwaukie families that would have otherwise gone without.  Thank You to Darlene at CIACC for helping us to find our families.  Thank You to the Milwaukie Lions Club for helping us with the food boxes that were donated to the families.  Thank You to Sue Kramer and Robin Baden at ODS for coordinating all of the toiletry boxes that were also donated to the families.  Thank You to the folks at Safeway on 42nd and King Rd. who came through at the last minute with turkey breasts at a great price for our families. Thank You to Ed Aaron for allowing us to use his building, as well as his financial support with this endeavor. Thank You to Grayrose Marketing for helping to enhance the food boxes with their donation. Thank You to the schools and organizations who made and decorated ornaments for all of the trees.

We also would like to thank Mt. Hood Mustangs and Fords, especially Randy, Jason, Lyle, Tim, Eli, Neola, Don, Bob and Lynne, thanks to Grayrose Marketing especially Kelli, and Phillip, and thanks to Mike Miller and Frank Higeura!!!!!!!!!!  Without each and everyone of you the Christmas trees, food boxes and gifts wouldn’t have been delivered to the families.  We are truly grateful for all of your help.

This event was a huge success and we look forward to next year !!!

With Sincere Gratitude,
Kim
