If you answered yes to either one of these questions we have the perfect thing for you! Â Tom Hogan, the Director of the Milwaukie poetry series for the Ledding Library. He is organizing an opportunity for you to read your poetry, or that of some of the great poets of our time. The format is an Open mic from 6-7 PM inside St. Johns Episcopal church on Jefferson Street. If you are not interested in reading, you are always welcome to join in by just listening. on September 24th, 2010 in Author's Corner by kim | No CommentsPlease join us at 8 Bit Cafe for the next installation of Author’s Corner. Â For those of you not yet familiar with Scott Lazenby we have included a bit of information to bring you up to speed.
Scott Lazenby is the author of Playing With Fire. The city management novel was serialized on the web site of Governing magazine and is required reading at several universities. It has so far sold around 4,000 copies. Lazenby’s role model as a writer is the late Michael Crichton, who covered different genres but always with good stories. Following that example, Lazenby has written several other novels in the science fiction, young adult, and Christian fiction genres. He is working on The Hunter, a detective thriller, as well as a modern answer to Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged.
In his day job, Scott Lazenby has been city manager of Sandy, Oregon since 1992. He has a bachelors degree in physics from Reed College, a masters in public policy & management from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a PhD in public administration & policy from Portland State University. He has been married to Sandy for 33 years; they spend their free time cycling, skiing, and sailing in the Pacific Northwest.

Â There was no shortage of activities to participate in, or entertainment to enjoy. Â Many thanks to all of the wonderful business owners who are instrumental in making sure that this event is one of the premiere events in downtown. Â All we can say for now is hold on the events listing is being compiled as we speak and I am telling you there are plenty of surprises in-store for you.
